| How to add an image link on Add An Image.
Here are some basic hints on how to best save an image link; firstly find a
really cool image on a website that you think the whole world should
know about. Then make sure you drill down the site until the picture
is the only thing in your browser - like the image below:
Then you need to select all the text in the Address box of your
browser - two clicks with your mouse should do this for Windows
users:

Then copy this text - by control-C'ing or right click and copy. Then find the image gallery category in which you want to place
the image link (view categories) and then select the link at the top of the page.
The captured URL can then be pasted into the image link field on the Enter Link page.
After pasting the URL into the link field then put in your text comment and email address (we only need this for validation purposes and will not sell it on to other companies) then copy the security code from below.
Finally click on the submit button and check that the URL has worked - click submit again to verify. You'll then be able to view your addition on within your chosen picture gallery category.
Please note that you can't post a link from a dynamic I.P. address - we've had a few people attempt posting a link this way -
the link will only work for as long as they have their machines switched on as the next time the connect they will have a new IP address. Sorry
if this sounds patronising to most of you but it has happened ;-)
About search engine optimization: having a link on www.AddAnImage.com
will not make a difference to your Google Page Rank (PR). The more
hits that we have here at AddAnImage.com it stands to reason that
you'll get hits which has to be a good thing.
It's worth pointing out here that having a link to us will use
some of your bandwidth because it's what's known as a hotlink -
everytime someone views the page where your image is placed AddAnImage
creates the thumbnail (it's actually a very clever piece of PHP coding called phpThumb that creates the thumbnail ) dynamically
- we don't hold a permanent copy of your images.
For making sure your site is getting as many hits and as much traffic
as you can you should read through the mountain of 'advice' available
on the web. Personally we believe that Google
AdWords is a fairly cost effective programme. And it's also
a good idea to use Googles SiteMap
tool - there are also other sitemap tools out there like: ROR Sitemap Generator.
Another important point is that you should have the permission of the image copyright holder before adding a link. If at any time we recieve complaints
of copyright infringement the offending links will be removed immediately.
